Step 1. ACTIVITIES
So if your friend is in a chatroom, go there and friend 1 person. Then Leave. If a friend makes or shares an artbook, Click it, Love it, And comment, you can even just comment something like an <3 or something. If a person makes a movie, watch it, rate it, then COMMENT. If a friend makes a look/shares a look click it, love it, then comment. You can even advertise your SHORT MOVIES in any of the movies, artbooks, looks etc! If a friend makes a forum, comment on it, try to be first commenter on any forum, who knows, it could be famous :O
You get what i mean right? If you comment on a lot of things on MSP, people will be like "I keep seeing you" then they'll friend you, you accept, and it keeps going ;)!!

Step 2. CHATTING
Try to chat or give autos to a ton of your friends! Just say "Hi" Or "I like your outfit" anything nice, you know? They'll keep you in their mind :)
Step 3. FASHION, FASHION, FASHION!
Try to be the most prettiest girl/Cutest boy in MSP! Just look at other people for ideas :)
